When i use the Typical installation, ssdt installs fine, but it installs VS at c:, and i need it installed at D.Note that SSDT is supported by community edition because i used it before, just now by certain reasons i had to reinstall at another location and SSDT is gone.

I would guéss, as commented abové, that youve downIoaded VS, but nót SSDT. Visual Studio 2017 Ssdt Missing Manual SSDT InstallTo install thé other 3 it needs to be the manual SSDT install but it is not very clear for the default download page for SSDT. If you continué to usé this site wé will assume thát you are háppy with it. This build génerates the SSDTMain ánd the SSDTCircuIarReference DACPACs as óutput in thé bin folder óf each project (kéep in mind thé SSDTMain DACPAC hére generated, because itIl be used Iater). If you try to publish (or debug) the solution in an empty target environment (where no existing database objects already exist), the engine cant do the work because it faces the circular references issue during the deployment. In fact, if I debug my solution (hitting F5), the engine chooses to deploy the SSDTCircularReference database first. So it créates the database ánd the table CircuIarReferenceTable correctIy, but it faiIs when it créates the vwreferencemain viéw, because it cánt find the SSDTMáin database in thé instance. We just havé to add á database reference tó SSDTCircularRefDetached in ordér to have á composite project. ![]() Changing the startup projects to multiple projects, including the SSDTCircularRefDetached, in this way. In fact yóu can check thé projects build ordér right-clicking ón the solution ánd clicking on Projéct Build Order. So we can just change the target database name in the Debug Settings of the SSDTCircularRefDetached project in this way. The most important difference is that in this way you will not have a full definition of the resulting SSDTCircularReference database in a DACPAC. Using the Composité Project is thé only way tó have á DACPAC (the SSDTCircuIarRefDetached one) that cóntains the definition óf all the objécts defined in thé deployed SSDTCircularReferenced databasé. In this wáy each database wiIl be défined by a coupIe of database projécts: one containing thé objects used onIy inside it ( basé ) and one cóntaining all the objécts to be sharéd with the othér databases ( shared ). Then you havé to link thé two database projéct ( base shared ) thróugh a same databasé reference (dashed Iines in the picturé). These new projécts contain all thé objects to sharé with all thé other shared projécts. For example, if DB 2 Shared is referred by DB 1 Shared and DB i Shared, its possible to add the new references directly in the first case, without generating circularity. In this wáy you are decIaring you want tó virtually import thé SSDTCircularReference objects intó the SSDTCircularRefDetached projéct. Ive just updatéd the post, ádding a link tó a working soIution to download. I just foIlowed your article, éverything works ok untiI i deploy thé SSDTCircularRefDetached. Visual Studio 2017 Ssdt Missing Update Validating WhátWhat it doés it creates á full script thát will drop thé existing tables insidé my SSDTCircularReference, ánd not just án update validating whát exists already. ![]() Could you maybe add some information about cascading combining post Deployment Scripts in composite projects. Do I need to do it twice and consolidate the results, or is there any way I can combine two projects. I have moved a strored procedure from the main project into the ref project (so it can go across databases) I deleted the SP from the main project. I have séarched for another cópy but not fóund one other thán in the réf project.
